The Need
The Wharton Economic Development Council currently has a 1,700 acre mega-site that they are actively marketing. In order to better understand their site and position themselves to attract a large industrial project, Wharton EDC approached GLS to evaluate their site via an Industrial Site Audit.
The Solution
Through coordination with the local economic development group, utility companies, rail providers, and local engineers, GLS gained and compiled extensive amounts of information regarding the mega-site. Major risks and necessary due diligence activities were identified and presented to the local community representatives. The Wharton EDC utilized the concluding remarks of the report to request funding from their board in order to make the site more competitive at both a regional and global level.
GLS fulfilled Wharton County's request for an audin of an industrial site and accomplished our goal to satisfy future prospects. The audit clarified all site development issues and demostrated our thoughts that we had a viable attainment site for the Houston Region - David Schroeder, Executive Director of Wharton EDC
