The Need
Due to increasing product demand, GLS was engaged by Trex Company to identify a new production location focused on the Central U.S. market and supply chains. Site technical requirements as well as the ability to recruit a strong pool of qualified labor were key project drivers.
The Solution
After aligning on the project’s priorities and site requirements, the site search spanned across eight states. The analysis considered quality, cost, and risk metrics throughout the evaluation. GLS led the company team on multiple site visits to delve into workforce, utilities, logistics, due diligence, and incentive negotiations in more detail. In October 2021, Trex Company announced Little Rock, Arkansas as the location for its third, and potentially largest, U.S. manufacturing site.
