$500,000,000

The Need

Procter and Gamble was looking to establish a new manufacturing facility, only their second to be opened in the United States since 1971. Utilizing an internal project team, P&G was able to identify two sites, one in West Virginia and one in Pennsylvania, to be the future location of new production lines for various consumer goods products. GLS was ultimately approached by P&G to help them make a selection on the final site.

The Solution

GLS began their evaluation of the two identified sites by obtaining data via site questionnaires submitted to each community. Following this initial data collection, GLS reviewed the site in person, meeting with necessary utility, transportation, and site representatives.

After a thorough review of each site, the location in Martinsburg, West Virginia, was targeted as being the most preferred location. GLS then coordinated and commissioned proper due diligence studies. After all studies were completed, and proper risks were mitigated, Martinsburg, WV was chosen to be the location of the $500 million investment from P&G.
