Two consulting professionals at Global Location Strategies (GLS) have been promoted from Senior Consultant to Principal. John Longshore has been named Principal and Vice President of Innovation and Monty Turner has been named Principal and Vice President of Operations.

GLS Founding Principal Didi Caldwell said, “John and Monty are immensely talented site selection professionals who share my vision for solidifying Global Location Strategies’ reputation as the global leader in site selection, incentive negotiations and economic development services. I am confident they have the commitment and ability to help us achieve our ambitious goals.”

As Vice President of Innovation, Longshore will be responsible for the implementation of new and emerging technologies designed to enhance operations and outcomes for GLS and its clients. He will also manage recruitment and training of personnel. He has worked at GLS since 2012 when he started as a business analyst before moving into a consultant role. For the past two-and-a-half years Longshore has served as a Senior Consultant at GLS, responsible for facilitating and managing site selection projects for industrial and manufacturing clients around the world. He also advises communities and economic development organizations throughout the United States on investment attraction strategies. He will continue providing these services with an emphasis in the sectors of chemicals, pulp and paper, and automotive in addition to his new duties.

Turner will also continue providing senior level location advisory services in addition to his new responsibilities as Vice President of Operations. In this new capacity, his primary charge is overseeing day-to-day operations to support the growth and business goals of the company. Turner has been with GLS since 2010 when he was hired as an intern during his senior year at Furman University. As a site selection consultant, he has worked on projects spanning a wide variety of industries, and his specialty lies in the sectors of life sciences, composites and advanced materials, and metals. Earlier this year, he was named one of Greenville, South Carolina’s Best and Brightest 35 Under 35.
