The Need
GLS was approached by Missouri Partnership to perform a site identification search throughout the state. The goal of this search was to identify new potential mega sites (1,000+ acres) that could support economic development recruitment of significant industrial projects that would provide a multi-generational impact.
The Solution
Over 40 potential industrial mega sites were initially identified. Through a series of analyses that evaluated site, infrastructure, and workforce characteristics, properties were narrowed to those with the most potential for mega site investment. Three sites in two communities were prioritized for additional analysis, and GLS provided a road map to bring each site to a state of investment readiness.
The very next year, Missouri Partnership engaged GLS again, this time for a site identification effort focused on 200+ acre industrial sites. This work is ongoing.
