The Need
Alabama Power engaged Fluor Energy and Global Location Strategies to study, survey, and map the existing physical and chemical assets of the Mobile, Alabama chemical corridor in order to support the recruitment of targeted sectors and industries to the region.
The Solution
GLS provided Alabama Power, the local and state economic development entities, and local chemical operations with a report detailing the key issues and requirements that would be related to attracting future investment and growth in the Mobile, AL chemical sector, an area that stretches from McIntosh, AL to Theodore, AL.
More specifically, GLS was able to highlight synergies between existing and future industry, map chemical flows, inputs, outputs, utilities, infrastructure, and company owned real estate, and deliver a succinct report of the assets offered along the chemical corridor.
The results of GLS’ study will allow future companies to increase profitability through process integration, sharing services, and reduced infrastructure costs. Alabama Power has also developed a marketing strategy based on GLS findings.
