The Need
Caesarstone engaged GLS to assist in the location of their first manufacturing facility outside of Israel. In response to Caesarstone’s market needs, GLS focused the initial search in the southeast and central United States.
The Solution
After initially receiving 79 proposed sites across 11 states in the southeast and central United States, GLS eliminated 31 sites that did not meet Caesarstone’s criteria. During Phase II, GLS conducted a preliminary logistics screening which helped narrow the search to the Southeastern United States. At this point, GLS conducted a comprehensive logistics cost analysis paired with our qualitative scoring analysis to focus on 7 remaining sites for virtual and in person site tours.
The site tours yielded two finalist sites, of which Caesarstone ultimately elected to pick the site in Richmond Hill, GA. Caesarstone’s first United States manufacturing facility was announced in 2013, followed by an announcement in 2015 that the project would expand to a $220M total investment and create 310 jobs.
This project was voted Economic Development Project of the Year in Georgia.
